You are invited to participate in the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) 2008 Mexico Immersion Program!

The program includes internationally known experts who will be joining us as instructors. This will be an enriching cultural experience and profound opportunity for professional enrichment. We hope you will make arrangements to join a community of mental health professionals intent on enhancing cross-cultural and international competencies, particularly with an eye towards better serving the needs of Latino communities. The dates of the program are July 6th to August 9th and the program fee is $4,450.00 for five weeks. This fee includes all of your housing, Spanish coursework and materials, the majority of breakfasts and suppers for the first four weeks, lectures, entrance fees to program activities, and travel costs from Mexico City to the Mexican coast of Veracruz. The fee does not include your flight to Mexico or tuition for any classes in which you choose to enroll.

Here is a small sample of the things we will be doing:

  • A trip to Veracruz
  • The Frida Kahlo Museum
  • A temazcal - (indigenous steam bath)
  • Visits to pyramids and other ruins
  • Lectures on topics such as current political & social issues in Mexico, GLBT issues in Mexico, immigration, local economics & politics, art, Liberation Psychology, and many more
  • Visit to the Basilica – the site of the appearance of the Virgin of Guadalupe
  • And much much more…
